I’m not an expert, just a regular VPN user with lots of PC knowledge. I just enable the VPN, bind the torrent program to the VPN network adapter and then I’m good to go. No need for port forwarding or proxies etc.
01. No logs
2. You trust the provider
3. Speedy servers
4. Safe servers ( like ram only encrypted and stuff )
5. Optionally a good kill switch if you dont bind the VPN on the torrent client.
Port forwarding can be neccessary on some VPN as in how they configured their networks but most it isnt really needed.
So basically surfshark isn’t the best then because:
They keep logs (support members could access my technical data sent … over 3 months ago, despite the screen saying the data is deleted upon closing of the support session)
I don’t trust the provider due to the above and other issues
Servers are indeed speedy when they work
Another plus
The killswitch doesn’t work in combination with their whitelister (confirmed by support member to be the case)
01. Port forwarding isn’t supported on surfshark at the moment, again support member confirmed this.
